Soho House 40 Greek Street

The original Soho House opened here in 1995, in a Grade II-listed townhouse on Greek Street, and everything the group has built since began in these rooms. The House closed for a refurbishment and came back in January 2018, on its twenty-third birthday, restored rather than reinvented. The interiors still read domestic: floral prints and painted panelling, worn boards, deep banquettes, a bar to lean on.

Three spaces take private events. The Club Room carries the floral-print decoration that nods to the building's Georgian heritage; it seats 30, holds 40 standing, and has a private bar with a stage at one end for performances. The Red Room, named for its walls, is a semi-private dining room built around a single table of twelve. At the top of the house the rooftop opens under a retractable roof, seating 40 or taking 50 for drinks.

All three are booked through a Soho House member. That is the House's rule rather than ours, and for most of our clients it is a formality: tell us who is sponsoring the evening and the private-events team takes it from there.
