/ About
Sofitel London St James occupies the former Cox & Kings bank on the corner of Pall Mall and Waterloo Place, a Grade II listed building completed in 1923 and converted into a five-star hotel in 2002. The banking hall's black-and-white architectural palette survives through a 2025 redesign of the ground floor, now anchored in red through the lobby lounge.
Twelve event spaces run from the Westminster and Mayfair Suites, a pair of divisible ballrooms, down to five smaller meeting rooms and The Hive, a dining and boardroom space opened in late 2025 whose central table takes its hexagonal shape from the 1765 Lloyds Bank emblem once associated with the building. Wild Honey St James, chef Anthony Demetre's modern European restaurant, holds a Michelin star and can be booked in full for between 70 and 150 guests.
St James Bar sits on the main floor behind a run of deep teal velvet booths, suited to a private drinks reception before or after dinner. Between the ballrooms, the restaurant and the bar, the building covers most of what a central London event needs without leaving Pall Mall.
