Shangri-La The Shard, London occupies eighteen floors of Renzo Piano's tower, from level 34 to 52: London's first high-rise hotel, and still its highest. Floor-to-ceiling glass wraps every guest room and every private space, so the two hundred rooms and the event floor share the same run of skyline, the Thames, Tower Bridge, St Paul's, the City, laid out below rather than glimpsed from it.
Three dining rooms carry the address. TĪNG, on level 35, serves modern Asian dishes built around British ingredients, in dishes meant for sharing. GŎNG, on level 52, is the highest hotel bar in western Europe: its cocktail and champagne bars are built around the dougong brackets of Chinese temple architecture, with an exclusive Sky Pool corner open on clear evenings. Sky Lounge, one floor below the event rooms, is the quieter option for an afternoon or early evening, Veuve Clicquot by the glass, light bites, views west toward Westminster.
The three named event rooms on level 34, Ren, Li and Yi, take their names from the Confucian virtues and can be hired individually or together. Ren is the ballroom — large enough for a formal dinner or a standing reception, and divisible into two smaller rooms. Li and Yi are boardroom-scaled, suited to a private dinner or a small meeting. Booked as one exclusive hire, the whole floor plus the adjoining Sky Lounge takes a considerably larger crowd, though opening the partition through the middle of Ren brings some restriction on amplified entertainment.

Level 34 (Exclusive Hire)
Exclusive HireThe full event floor taken as one: Ren, Li and Yi together with the adjoining Sky Lounge, connected by the staircase that also leads up to the hotel's sky lobby. The largest configuration the hotel offers, and the only way to put all four rooms' skyline views to use in a single event.
Ren Room
Exclusive HireThe hotel's ballroom and its largest single room, wrapped in floor-to-ceiling glass with a northerly run over the City and the river. Ren divides into two equal halves for a smaller event, though opening the partition between them brings some restriction on amplified entertainment. Crystal chandeliers and an adaptable floor suit it equally to a seated dinner or a standing reception.
TĪNG Restaurant
Exclusive HireThe hotel's restaurant on level 35, serving modern Asian dishes built around British ingredients at a table set against Tower Bridge and the river. Taken as a private hire, it seats considerably more than either of the level-34 event rooms.
GŎNG Bar
Exclusive HireThe highest hotel bar in western Europe, on level 52, its cocktail and champagne bars built around the dougong brackets of Chinese temple architecture. A private hire extends into the adjoining Sky Pool for a larger reception.
Sky Pool
Semi PrivateA small, self-contained space beside GŎNG on level 52, built around the highest hotel swimming pool in western Europe. Best taken alongside GŎNG for an evening reception with its own bar and lighting.
Li Room
PrivateA smaller, contemporary event room on level 34 looking west toward St Paul's and the West End, suited to a boardroom meeting or a private dinner around its oval table.
Sky Lounge
Semi PrivateThe hotel's afternoon and early-evening room, one floor below the event spaces, with a quieter, more social register than Ren, Li or Yi. Veuve Clicquot by the glass and a menu of light bites.
Yi Room
PrivateThe smallest and most intimate of the three level-34 rooms, on the Shard's eastern corner with a view down to Tower Bridge, the Tower of London and Canary Wharf. Suited to a boardroom meeting for up to a dozen, or an elegant private dinner around one table.
