Royal Garden Hotel

The hotel's ballroom: 4,935 square feet without a pillar in it, under a 12ft ceiling, with its own foyer, two private entrances and a street-level goods door for load-in. It divides into the St James and Buckingham Suites. A portable stage, a dance floor and a colour-changing lighting installation are in house.

The Palace Suite's other half, matching the St James at 2,441 square feet, taken on its own for a smaller dinner or reception.

The ground-floor restaurant and bar, seasonal British and two AA Rosettes, with full-height glazing onto Kensington Gardens. Afternoon tea runs Thursday to Sunday; the room takes exclusive hire.

Cantonese and Sichuan cooking on the tenth floor, wood-fired Beijing duck its signature, looking across Kensington Gardens to the skyline. A separate private dining room sits off the main room.

1,849 square feet of marquetry-panelled room on the events floor, divisible into two equal halves, the Victoria and the Albert.

The larger of the mezzanine suites, with triple-glazed windows the height of the room down one side and mirrored walls opposite. It has its own registration area and cloakroom.
