/ About
The View occupies the top of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the institution founded by Royal Charter in 1800 that has stood on Lincoln's Inn Fields for two centuries behind Sir Charles Barry's colonnaded frontage. When the College reworked its Grade II*-listed headquarters, the sixth floor was given over to events, and it is the reason for the name: floor-to-ceiling glazing runs the length of the room, opening onto a private terrace that looks across the plane trees of London's largest public square. A terrace at that height in central London is a genuine rarity, and on a summer evening it is the whole point of the space.
The sixth floor divides into the Conference Suite, a broad daylit room that seats up to 300 for a presentation and turns over to a dinner for 220, and the adjoining Park View Suite, whose windows and terrace access make it the natural home for a drinks reception. Two panelled breakout rooms, the Newman Suite and the Linder Boardroom, sit alongside. Down in the historic core, the Lumley Library keeps a different register entirely: a double-height, galleried book room of green-painted cases and bound volumes, set for long-table dinners beneath the portraits of past presidents. The ground-floor G1 room handles smaller meetings and arrivals.
Catering across the building is run by Searcys, the long-established London events caterer, cooking seasonal British menus. The rooms carry integrated AV as standard, and the whole venue is step-free. It suits a conference by day and a reception or dinner by night, with the terrace and the square below doing the work no interior can.
