/ About
Down a quiet lane in Smithfield, Restaurant St Barts looks out on the cloisters of St Bartholomew the Great, London's oldest surviving church. It is the work of Johnnie Crowe, Luke Wasserman and Toby Neill, the team behind Nest, and it opened in 2022 as a British tasting-menu restaurant built on hyper-seasonal produce and a nose-to-tail approach that wastes as little as possible. It holds one MICHELIN Star and a MICHELIN Green Star, the only restaurant in London to carry both.
The room is pared back and warm: stone, wood and soft fabric, handmade tables turned from fallen London plane trees, and ceramics made in-house. Dinner opens in a relaxed lounge for a drink before guests move through to the main dining room, where tall windows frame the churchyard and an open kitchen sets the pace of service.
For private events the restaurant offers an intimate private dining room seating eight, a semi-private section of the main room for around twenty, and a full buyout of the whole restaurant for up to thirty-five seated. Available for private hire through the events team.
