/ About
Pavilion occupies a Portland-stone landmark at 64 Knightsbridge, built for the London and County Bank in 1884 and later home to the Danish Club. Russell Sage Studio took the bones of the old banking hall and gave them a relaxed, art-deco-inflected character: timber inlays, rattan furniture, mosaic floor tiling, copper and brass fittings. The result is a members' club that wears its luxury lightly, pitched as a social with substance rather than a stuffy gentlemen's institution.
The heart of the building is the ground-floor atrium, where a 360-degree hexagonal bar sits beneath a galleried mezzanine threaded with ivy and a sweeping staircase. Above it, the third floor opens onto a planted terrace with uninterrupted views over Hyde Park, used year-round for al-fresco dining and live DJ sets. Smaller spaces, including a red-walled lounge and a green-papered library room downstairs, give the club a run of distinct settings for more intimate gatherings. An all-day menu was developed with Tom Kerridge.
For private events the atrium bar, terrace and lounge spaces hire out for launches, parties, fashion presentations and dinners. Capacities stay in the intimate-to-mid range, the terrace is one of the few rooftop settings in Knightsbridge that faces the park directly, and the third-floor event space and terrace work naturally for a DJ-led evening.
