/ About

One Marylebone occupies a Grade I listed former church built in 1826 to designs by Sir John Soane, standing on its own island site on Marylebone Road moments from Regent's Park. The building was conceived as a celebration of the defeat of Napoleon, and its neoclassical facade — Portland stone columns, a balustraded terrace, clock tower — has changed little since. Inside, five distinct event spaces range from a soaring 27-foot hall with original mosaics and stained-glass windows to subterranean vaulted brick cellars licensed until 3am.

The Soane Hall is the main event: a vast, column-lined nave capable of 320 seated or 500 standing, flooded with rose-window light by day and transformed by moving-head rigs and uplighting by night. Beneath it, The Vaults run as two floors of arched brick — a mezzanine overlooking a dancefloor-ready main room with a resident in-house sound system, purpose-built for late-night parties. The first-floor Galleries, U-shaped around the East, West and South wings, carry double-height ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that shift the atmosphere from corporate presentation to intimate reception depending on how the room is dressed. Outside, The Garden wraps the west flank of the building with teak tables, stretching to 200 standing under marquee cover in winter. And along the east side, nine individual glass-and-steel Greenhouses seat between four and twenty-two guests apiece, each draped in living foliage for private dinners with a distinctly theatrical character.

One Marylebone has hosted MAC Cosmetics, Temperley London and a succession of fashion-week productions. The in-house events team handles catering via One Dining, and the venue holds an events licence that extends to 3am in The Vaults — rare for a building of this age in this part of London. The venue won the London Venue Catering Awards 2025 for Best Venue for Gala Dinners, Awards or Weddings.

The principal space: a 27-foot-high neoclassical nave with original Soane mosaics, stained-glass windows, and rose windows that flood the room with coloured light. At 500 standing or 320 seated, it is one of central London's largest heritage event spaces available for private hire. The hall is entirely flexible — no fixed furniture, full black-out capability, and a production infrastructure that supports large lighting and audio builds.

The Galleries

Exclusive Hire
Seats 170 / Up to 320

A U-shaped suite of three interconnected galleries on the first floor, comprising the East, West and South wings. Double-height ceilings and floor-to-ceiling arched windows pour natural light into the East and West sections. The Galleries work as a standalone venue for up to 320 standing or as a pre-event reception space flowing into the Soane Hall below. Chandeliers and parquet floors give the space a formal elegance that softens under uplighting for evening events.

The Vaults

Exclusive Hire
Seats 100 / Up to 300

Two floors of subterranean event space beneath the church, with a mezzanine level overlooking a dancefloor-ready main room. Exposed brick arches run the full length of both levels, with lounge seating, a bar, and a club-grade in-house sound system built in. Licensed until 3am, The Vaults is the most DJ-forward space in the building — the layout and acoustics are designed for music-led evenings, and the mezzanine creates natural separation between the floor below and a quieter upper level.

Seats 120 / Up to 200

An enclosed courtyard garden along the west side of the building, with teak furniture and planting beds framed by the Soane facade. The space seats up to 120 for outdoor dining and expands to 200 standing for receptions. Stretch marquee cover and heaters make it usable year-round, while summer months open the canopy for partial open-air settings. A built-in bar and adjacent kitchen support full catering service.

Seats 22 / Up to 30

Nine individual glass-and-steel greenhouse structures along the east side of the venue, each draped in seasonal foliage and available to hire separately or collectively. The smallest accommodates four guests; the largest seats twenty-two. Each greenhouse has its own intimate character — trailing plants overhead, Persian rugs underfoot, candlelight — making them suited to private dinners, small celebrations, and supper clubs. The larger greenhouses include integrated audio.
