/ About

Mountain is Tomos Parry's Soho restaurant, opened in 2023 on the corner of Beak Street and Upper John Street and awarded a Michelin star in 2024. Built around live fire and Basque-leaning cooking, it took shape under designer Dan Preston, who lined the room in locally sourced elm, ash and pippy poplar and ran electric-blue pillars through the space as the restaurant's signature note. Terracotta, exposed brick and a great deal of natural light give it the earthy, unpolished feel that matches the kitchen's small-producer sourcing.

The restaurant works across two levels. The street-level dining room is the one you walk into, commanded by the open kitchen and ringed with round timber tables, a chef's counter and high-top seats that take walk-ins. Downstairs is the more clubby room, where booths and a long timber bar gather around a large wood-fired oven, with a vintage turntable and a single big speaker built into the joinery behind the counter.

The ground-floor dining room seats groups of up to ten, while the downstairs bar is the natural retreat for a nightcap and the most intimate corner of the building. For a private gathering the whole restaurant can be taken exclusively, and the in-house turntable and sound system make the lower room a rare Soho space already set up for music once the tables are cleared.
