/ About
Maison François occupies the former Green's site on Duke Street, a few steps from Jermyn Street, and opened in 2020 as a grand all-day French brasserie. The ground-floor dining room takes its cues from the railway buffets of Paris, Lyon and Alsace: terracotta arches, burgundy banquettes and an Art Deco clock set above the open kitchen. It has since collected design awards and is widely counted among the handsome rooms of central London.
The kitchen, led by François O'Neill with head chef Matthew Ryle, keeps to classic French cooking and a dessert trolley that has become a fixture. For private events the whole brasserie can be taken exclusively, seating one hundred guests or holding a hundred and fifty for a reception. A glass-fronted wine room on the lower floor seats eighteen around a single long table, the most private corner of the house.
Below the restaurant sits Frank's, a low-lit wine and cocktail bar with its own charcuterie counter and a later, sleeker mood. It hires exclusively for thirty-five seated or sixty-five standing, has space for live music, and will take a DJ on request. Together the three spaces suit everything from a seated dinner to a standing party across the whole building.
