/ About

Lilibet's occupies No. 17 Bruton Street, the Mayfair address where Queen Elizabeth II was born in 1926, and takes its name from her family's childhood nickname for her. The seafood restaurant is the work of Ross Shonhan, once executive chef at Nobu and the founder of Bone Daddies and Shackfuyu, while the interiors come from Russell Sage Studio, conceived as a 'house without walls' that imagines what No. 17 might have become had it stayed a private home. The look is unapologetic pre-war glamour: scalloped lampshades, gilt mirrors, painted ceilings and floral upholstery layered from room to room.

The ground floor moves between a marble cocktail bar, an oyster bar set under arched alcoves and a dining room of velvet banquettes and open fireplaces, with a green-canopied terrace running along Bruton Street for all-weather lunches and aperitifs. The cooking is seafood-led and Mediterranean in spirit, built around the raw bar and the grill.

Private gatherings take the Hartnell Room downstairs, a fabric-lined dining room named for Sir Norman Hartnell, the royal couturier whose atelier stood across the street. Walls pleated in rose silk, candlelight and a pair of glass chandeliers set the tone, and it seats up to 22 for lunch or dinner under exclusive use. The terrace and the wider restaurant are also available for celebrations and corporate entertaining.
