/ About

La Goccia was the all-day Italian restaurant and cocktail bar of Petersham Nurseries in Covent Garden, opened by the Boglione family on Floral Court, the planted courtyard between King Street and Floral Street. The kitchen was open to the room, with a wood-fired oven and a large grill, so the chefs cooked in full view of the tables. The menu was the house take on aperitivo and cicchetti, small Italian plates that changed with the season and drew on Haye Farm, the family's organic farm in East Devon.

The bar was the centrepiece. Its counter was made entirely of real leaves, each one hand cast in bronze, and it stood in front of antiqued mirrors and amber glass shelves. The cocktails were built on botanicals, herbs and edible flowers. The room was later repainted in warm terracotta and furnished with red velvet banquettes and armchairs, and on late nights the bar took live music, a resident DJ and dancing.

For private events the whole restaurant and bar was let exclusively, for up to 120 standing. The alfresco dining area on Floral Court seated 30 for a breakfast, lunch or dinner, and the Kitchen Counter took eight guests for a masterclass with the chefs.
