/ About
KID is the first restaurant of his own from Sertaç Dirik, the chef who remade his family's Mangal II in Dalston, opened with David Carter, the restaurateur behind Smokestak, Manteca, Oma and Agora. It opened on 1 September 2026 in a Victorian corner building at Frith Street and Bateman Street, and the front door is on Bateman Street.
The kitchen cooks Anatolian food over a charcoal grill and in a wood-fired oven, with British produce and a bakery in the basement. The signature dish is kid goat, cooked in the wood oven, which gives the room its name. A grill counter is the focal point, with a few seats facing the fire, and the main dining room is dark brick and candlelight, designed by the London studio BOX 9. A smaller, clubbier room looks onto Frith Street.
For a private dinner, the wine room doubles as the private dining room. Enquire with the restaurant for numbers and dates.
