Kapara

Kapara is the second London restaurant from chef Eran Tibi, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu and cooked at Ottolenghi and Nopi before opening Bala Baya in Southwark. It opened in February 2023 on the ground floor of Ilona Rose House, set back from Greek Street on James Court, and the name is Hebrew slang for darling. The cooking is Israeli and Eastern Mediterranean, built for sharing, with a cocktail list and weekend brunch alongside.

The room runs over two floors. Upstairs is a warm, low-lit dining room and a long tiled bar, with a raised stage for live music. Outside, a courtyard terrace sits against an old brick wall under awnings and heat lamps, and it trades all year. Downstairs is the Bling Room, lined in mirrored panels under clusters of globe lights, with a private bar that can be kept for the party alone.

Kapara is built for a night that keeps going after the plates are cleared. The Bling Room seats 40 for a private dinner and holds 50 standing. The terrace takes 50 seated, and the whole ground floor can be taken over for up to 200 standing or 110 seated. The events team shapes the menu, the drinks and the room around each occasion.
