Homewood is a country house hotel in 21 acres at Freshford, a few miles south-east of Bath, above the Avon Valley. Ian and Christa Taylor took it on in 2018 and remade it as a house full of art and colour, with chandeliers in the dining rooms, a kitchen garden, a spa with a heated outdoor pool, and 32 bedrooms and suites across the main house and Mallingford Mews. It has been a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World since 2021.

For a private party the house can be taken whole. Exclusive use covers every bedroom, Valentine's Bar, the two lounges, Olio and its terrace, the spa and the grounds, with a chef on call and a dedicated events team, and the hotel gives up to 110 guests for an exclusive-use occasion. The lawns take a marquee for a larger evening, and in summer La Taberna, a canvas orangery hung with fabric and chandeliers, can be hired on its own.

The smaller rooms suit a dinner rather than a dance. The Chandelier Room seats 36 beneath a ceiling of glass lights, The Pavillion seats 10 and Tibby's House, a garden summerhouse with folding doors, seats 8. Mallingford Mews, ten bedrooms with a private garden and terrace, is let on its own for a group of 20.
