/ About
Hampton Manor is a 45-acre estate in Hampton-in-Arden with a Michelin-starred restaurant at its centre. The estate once belonged to Sir Robert Peel, and the house dates from the start of the Arts and Crafts era. The Hill family took it on in 2008, when the estate had stood disused for over a year, and has since restored the house and the Victorian walled garden. Today it is a hotel of 24 bedrooms, 15 of them in the manor house.
The food is the reason to come. Grace & Savour, built into the walls of the walled garden, serves a Michelin-starred tasting menu from an open kitchen under chef director David Taylor. Kynd cooks over fire among the estate's original Victorian greenhouses. In the house, the Dining Room seats up to 42 at a long table carved from a single piece of locally felled English oak, under hand-painted chinoiserie walls and oak panelling, and the Tasting Room seats eight with a window into the kitchen.
The largest space is the Courtyard, a glass-roofed atrium set into stone walls with views of the clocktower, its own bar and a heated garden terrace, with evening events running until midnight. The manor house can be taken exclusively by groups of 30 or more, and with the Courtyard and its covered pergola it seats up to 204. Direct trains from London take under two hours, and the station is a seven-minute walk from the estate.
