Ham Yard Restaurant

Ham Yard Restaurant sits at the centre of Kit Kemp's Ham Yard Hotel, a Firmdale house tucked into its own courtyard between Soho and Piccadilly Circus. The high-ceilinged dining room is the fullest expression of the Firmdale look: patterned wallcoverings, a wall hung salon-style with contemporary art, bold banquettes and a long pewter bar, all lit by a sculptural chandelier and framed by an open kitchen. The kitchen cooks modern British and European food across the day, from breakfast meetings through pre-theatre suppers to Sunday roasts with live music.

The room opens onto a planted courtyard set beneath oak trees, with fireplaces and twinkling lights for al fresco dining in warmer months, and a light-filled Orangery used for afternoon tea served on Kemp's own Wedgwood china. The effect is a calm, greenery-framed oasis a minute from one of London's busiest junctions, which is what has made it a fixture for client entertaining and celebratory dinners.

For private events the restaurant hosts intimate group tables within the dining room and can be taken for larger occasions; the wider hotel adds a 190-seat theatre and a set of interconnecting event rooms for those who need them. Access is by arrangement through the events team rather than a published hire product.
