/ About

Grill 88 occupies the ground floor of The Biltmore Mayfair on Grosvenor Square, the steakhouse chef Luis Campos opened in April 2023 in the space Jason Atherton once ran as The Betterment. Sage green banquettes sit against white marble and brushed brass, with sash windows framing the square outside and a run of contemporary canvases along the far wall. The room seats 32, an intentional cap that keeps the open kitchen and its charcoal grill within sight and earshot of every table.

The menu leads with cuts sourced across three continents: Lake District sirloin, Australian full-blood Wagyu, and Japanese A5 Kagoshima and Kobe beef, each grilled over charcoal and, for the more hands-on, finished tableside on a heated stone. Seafood runs alongside it rather than beneath it, with Dorset crab, Orkney scallops and native lobster on the same card. A dedicated sommelier pairs each course, treating the wine list as a second menu rather than an afterthought.

For a private party the whole restaurant is the offer: one sitting, one kitchen, and a dining room small enough that a buyout reads as intimate rather than empty.
