Kaya Great Northern Hotel

London's original railway hotel opened in 1854 beside King's Cross station, designed by Lewis Cubitt, the architect behind the station itself. It closed in 2002 and reopened in April 2013 after a restoration that recovered the building's Victorian proportions: sash windows, a sweeping staircase, a stained-glass window on the return of the stairs. In September 2025 the hotel left Marriott's Tribute Portfolio to become Kaya Great Northern Hotel, under the Turkish operator Kaya Hotels & Resorts.

Its event rooms sit together on the first floor. The Carriage is a boardroom that converts for dinner or a cocktail party around its own platinum-topped bar; the adjoining Lounge splits into two connecting areas with the same plush, low-lit interiors; the Mezzanine is a smaller, semi-open room looking down over GNH Bar. RAILS Restaurant, on the same floor, takes private bookings for up to 90 guests banquet-style, and its adjoining Little Bar, dark-walled and hung with sketches, can be booked on its own for a cocktail reception.

Downstairs, GNH Bar takes up most of the ground floor and opens straight onto King's Cross station's western concourse, with a DJ most Friday and Saturday nights playing funk, jazz and dance. The hotel is Grade II listed and sits between two of London's busiest stations and the Eurostar terminal.
