Gaucho Piccadilly

Gaucho's Piccadilly flagship occupies the former residence of the Spanish Ambassador on Swallow Street, the quiet turn off Regent Street where the group opened its first London restaurant in 1994. The steakhouse now runs across three floors of the building, the spiritual home of a brand built on Argentine beef and an all-South American wine list. The look is Gaucho's own: cowhide and monochrome, low light, walls of bottles, and the occasional flash of colour from a red pendant or a run of Andalusian tiles.

For private events the restaurant divides into a set of distinct rooms across its floors. The top-floor Ambassadors Room is the headline space, taking up to 100 seated or 150 standing with its own kitchen and bar; below it sit the Andes Room, a dramatic private dining room laid for long-table dinners, and two smaller salons, the tiled Spanish Room and the Wine Room walled in bottles. A street-level terrace and a rooftop terrace add open-air options, and the whole building can be taken exclusively for up to 400 guests.

This is a room built for a crowd and a late table rather than a hushed one, which is what makes it work for a private party with music. The Ambassadors Room carries its own AV and holds a standing reception across the top floor, and a dedicated events team runs bookings across the building. Available for private hire; enquire.
