Carousel

Carousel occupies three Georgian townhouses on Charlotte Street, the project of the Templeton family and a fixture of Fitzrovia's dining scene since it moved to this larger site in 2021. It is best known for its rolling programme of guest chefs, who take over the kitchen for short residencies, but the building was built around events as much as dinner: a whole floor is given over to private hire, and the ground floor holds No. 23, a relaxed cocktail and small-plates bar overseen by co-founder Ollie Templeton.

The spaces read as raw-luxe rather than formal. The White Room on 21 Charlotte Street is the largest, a light-filled blank canvas with crittall windows, original oak floorboards, a built-in timber bar and flexible track lighting that takes a party of up to 150 standing. Next door at No. 23, the Green Room is the more intimate option, its deep green walls hung with bold artwork and lit by a cluster of exposed bulbs, with sliding glass-panelled doors and a lobby overlooking the building's double-height atrium. Both rooms can be hired together for the run of a single evening.

For an intimate DJ-led event the appeal is the flexibility: clean-lined, design-forward rooms that suit a seated dinner early and open out for music later, with an in-house events team and kitchen handling food and drink. The rooms are above street level with their own entrances and washrooms, which keeps a private party genuinely private. Sound and DJ logistics are arranged on enquiry rather than fixed as a permanent install.
