/ About
Bottarga took over the King's Road corner that spent eight years as Chicama, the Pachamama Group's Peruvian seafood room, opening in October 2024 with a change of course to Greek and wider Mediterranean cooking. Founding Pachamama chef Adam Rawson works alongside Tzoulio Loulai, whose family produces the olive oil on the table, on a menu of shared plates built around bottarga, feta and the flavours of the Aegean islands. It sits as the younger, more casual sibling to the group's Zephyr in Notting Hill.
The room keeps Chicama's bones - wooden floors, panelled walls, banquette seating - and adds candlelit tables, white cloths and a run of playful contemporary paintings ("Child of Hermes", "A Horse Named Trojan") by art director Lunara Bramley-Fento, with antique crockery sourced from local markets. A terrace, redesigned for year-round use and heated through the colder months, runs along King's Road itself. Reviewers have called it the busiest table in Chelsea since it opened, packing both the dining room and the terrace at lunch and dinner with a young, fashionable crowd.
Private hire runs from the terrace, taken for up to 30, through to a full exclusive hire of the restaurant for parties of up to 80 standing. A nine-cocktail list and an extensive Mediterranean-leaning wine list carry the room after dark.
