/ About

Bombay Brasserie opened on Courtfield Close in 1982 and is one of London's original Indian fine-dining rooms, a South Kensington fixture for more than four decades. It sits opposite Gloucester Road station behind an arched, lantern-lit entrance, and the interiors carry the colonial-era grandeur the restaurant built its name on: high ceilings, dark polished wood, brass peacocks, oversized floral displays and walls painted with old Bombay scenes.

The signature space is the Conservatory, a glass-roofed garden room trailing with ferns and hanging plants that seats 110 for dinner and holds 130 standing. Alongside it sit a private dining room for up to 30 guests, with its own lounge for a champagne reception beforehand, and the Bombay Bar, a cocktail lounge at the front of the restaurant. Hired as a whole, the restaurant takes up to 300 guests and is licensed for civil ceremonies.

A dedicated events team handles bespoke menus, wine pairings and seating plans, which makes it a practical choice for a milestone dinner, a wedding reception or a corporate evening in SW7. The rooms suit a hosted dinner with music rather than a late club night; confirm sound and licensing with the events team when you enquire.
