/ About
Boisdale of Belgravia has occupied 13–15 Eccleston Street since 1989, its unmistakable red Georgian facade as much a landmark as the live jazz that drifts through the front windows most evenings. Inside, the rooms read like a cabinet of curiosities: oil portraits, taxidermy, tartan carpets, Chesterfield banquettes, and a whisky selection that runs to several hundred expressions. The patron of music is Jools Holland, and live performance is central to the place rather than incidental to it — bands and soloists take the stage in the Macdonald Bar most nights, with jazz at Sunday lunch.
The venue spreads across multiple levels of the townhouse. The Macdonald Bar and restaurant occupies the ground floor, styled in the manner of a 1940s gentlemen's club with an active cocktail bar and a resident stage for performers. The Auld Restaurant is the oldest room, quieter and more formal, hung with family heirlooms and oil paintings. The first-floor Jacobite Room is the most intimate of the private spaces — deep reds, mahogany panelling, and a single round table beneath a crystal chandelier. The Courtyard Garden, sheltered behind the main building with a retractable glass roof and climbing bougainvillea, is one of the more romantic dining rooms in the neighbourhood. Above the bar, the Cigar Terrace provides a covered, heated lounge for the venue's considerable cigar offering.
For private hire the Belgravia branch offers a range of configurations: individual rooms for ten to sixty guests or the entire venue for up to 136 seated or 200 standing. The music licence runs until 1am, and the in-house team can arrange live entertainment alongside private dining menus.
