Bagatelle Mayfair

On Dover Street in the heart of Mayfair, Bagatelle has built its London reputation on a particular kind of evening: French-Mediterranean dinner that tips, around midnight, into something louder and more festive. The ground-floor restaurant was redesigned by Sam Baron and carries his signature restraint — walnut-panelled walls, raffia-backed chairs, white linen — while the downstairs Velvet Room goes the other way: deep crimson, botanical tapestry panels, and a cocktail bar faced in tropical-print tiles. Both floors have a resident DJ setup and stay open until 1am.

The restaurant seats 130 guests across its main floor, with a well-stocked bar running along one wall and framed art from the Bagatelle stable hung throughout. The kitchen, under executive chef Giuseppe Strippoli, runs a Mediterranean menu built for long tables and shared plates. The Velvet Room below seats 65 and stands 100 in just 100 square metres — small enough that the music lands properly and every table is close to the bar.

For private hire, the venue operates across both floors or as individual rooms. The events team handles bespoke menus and production; the licence runs to 1am with extension available. Dover Street parking is on-street, and Green Park is four minutes on foot.
