The Berlin DJ who twice topped the world poll of DJs and helped define trance in the 1990s heads London Homecoming, a day-into-night programme at Studio 338.
Paul van Dyk, twice voted the world’s number one DJ, headlines London Homecoming, a day-into-night trance programme at Studio 338 on the Greenwich Peninsula, on Saturday 17 October 2026.
Van Dyk was born Matthias Paul in Eisenhüttenstadt, East Germany, in 1971, and grew up in East Berlin on Western radio and smuggled mixtapes. Shortly before the Wall fell, he and his mother were allowed to leave for Hamburg.
He returned to Berlin in 1990 and played his first DJ set at Tresor in March 1991. His remix of Humate’s “Love Stimulation” and the single “For an Angel” made him one of the first international names in trance.
He topped the DJ poll in 2005 and 2006, and his 2003 album Reflections was the first record nominated for the new Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album. His radio show, VONYC Sessions, reached its 1,000th episode in January 2026.
The night is a return to Studio 338, where he headlines the main room with Paul Thomas and a live set from Lostly Mirage beside him.
The garden holds a second trance programme with Agnelli & Nelson, The Thrillseekers and a 20-year set from Ferry Tayle. Craig Connelly takes the afterparty.
