Argentina’s best-known DJ, a progressive house figure since the Clubland and Cream years, plays an extended set in the Theatre at KOKO.
Hernan Cattaneo, sixth in the Top 100 DJ poll in 2004, plays an extended set in the Theatre at KOKO in Camden on Friday 16 October 2026.
Born in the Caballito neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1965, Cattaneo first heard Chicago house on imported vinyl. Frankie Knuckles, Inner City and Derrick May were his models.
He began on the city’s FM Z95 in the early 1990s, then took the residency at Clubland, which drew visiting names such as Paul Oakenfold, Sasha and John Digweed. Oakenfold signed him to Perfecto and took him on a European tour. Cream made him its South American resident, with dates in Liverpool and Ibiza.
Renaissance gave him two volumes of its Masters Series, the first DJ it asked back for a second, and launched Sequential, his own mix series, in 2006. His weekly radio show, Resident, and his support for younger producers such as Arodes carry deep and melodic house to audiences around the world.
KOKO gives him the Theatre from opening to close. The set runs seven hours in the balconied Victorian room on Camden High Street.
