The Decorative Fair, Spring 2025

6 – 11 May 2025 Evolution London · Battersea

The Decorative Fair's spring edition filled its Battersea Park marquee for six days in May 2025, with garden statuary to the fore and The House Directory Live added upstairs.

The Decorative Fair’s spring edition filled the Evolution London marquee in Battersea Park from Tuesday 6 to Sunday 11 May 2025. Around 130 dealers in antiques, fine and decorative art and design took stands.

The fair began in 1985 and took post-war design as seriously as period furniture. Its dateline runs from the 1700s to the 1970s, so an eighteenth-century Russian silk brocade panel and a twentieth-century garden chair can share an aisle.

Each of its three editions a year takes its season as the brief. May is the garden edition, with statuary, urns and outdoor furniture in the strongest positions on the floor.

Interior designers and decorators treat the fair as a sourcing trip, and collectors come for one-off pieces with a history. The textiles that year included antique tapestries, historic wall hangings and vintage rugs.

The 2025 edition added The House Directory Live on the mezzanine, with decorating suppliers and makers alongside talks, demonstrations and workshops. The House Directory has kept its contact book of the decorating trade for more than 20 years, and the fair was its first live outing.
