Cyprus's most commercially successful pop export of the 2000s, Michalis Hatzigiannis brought his full band and three decades of hits to the Troxy in Limehouse.
Michalis Hatzigiannis, who represented Cyprus at Eurovision in 1998, performed with his full band at Troxy in Limehouse on Saturday 11 October 2025.
Born in Nicosia in 1978, Hatzigiannis took a degree in piano, guitar and music theory at the Cyprus Music Academy of London’s Royal Academy of Music. At 18 he won a Cypriot song contest, and his Eurovision entry, “Genesis”, was a song of his own.
He moved to Athens in 1998 and released his Greek debut, Paraxeni Giorti, in March 2000. The album went double platinum, and its single “Mono Sta Onira” held the top of Greek radio for weeks.
Between 2000 and 2010 he earned more than 30 sales certifications in Greece. That record ranks him among the decade’s most commercially successful artists there.
Promoted by London Music Stage, the concert drew the city’s Cypriot and Greek communities. His set ranged across three decades of hits in Greek, played by a full band.
Troxy opened on Commercial Road in 1933 as an Art Deco cinema by the architect George Coles. It seats 3,100 beneath its original circle boxes.
