Wynn Mayfair

A pair of 17th-century houses on Curzon Street has held a private club since the 1960s, when the White Elephant drew Hollywood and London society to the same dining room. John Aspinall bought it in 1992 and turned it into a gaming club under his own name. Wynn Resorts took the building in 2025 and reopened it that June as Wynn Mayfair, keeping the bronze elephant at the door and many of the works from Aspinall's own collection of art and antiques on the walls.

The club runs over several floors. The main salon sits behind crimson columns. On the floors above are the private salons: the Jade Room under a hand-painted dome and a blown-glass chandelier, the Club Room behind tasselled kimono-silk drapery, the Emerald Room, and the Gallery Room, where the pictures run from classical portraits and landscapes to Warhol and Hirst. The Bar and The Dining Room take the ground floor and are open to guests as well as members.

On the roof, an open-air terrace looks over the neighbourhood and is laid out for gaming, dining and sitting out. It is also one of the club's designated smoking areas. A salon can be reserved privately and set to a member's preferences, music included, and the Private Dining Room takes members hosting a dinner, with menus written for the table. Dress is smart casual, the bar runs until six in the morning, and hire is arranged through the house.
