The Wolseley

The Wolseley trades on the ground floor of a 1921 showroom built for Wolseley Motors and designed by William Curtis Green. It opened as a restaurant in November 2003 and has kept the building's showroom scale: black lacquered columns, vaulted ceilings, a starburst marble floor and wrought-iron chandeliers. The room follows the European grand café tradition, which is what its founders, Chris Corbin and Jeremy King, set out to build.

Since 2022 it has been owned by Minor International and runs as the flagship of The Wolseley Hospitality Group. It serves seven days a week, from breakfast through to a late menu, and the café floor is never given over to a private party.

Private events happen in one room. The Private Dining Room sits above the restaurant, reached by its own staircase, and seats fifteen around a single oval table beneath a black-and-gold lacquered vault. Four arched windows face Piccadilly, and the room keeps a view down onto the café floor. There is no AV equipment in the room, and access is by ramp rather than lift.
