The Thomas Cubitt

Named after the master builder who laid out the streets and squares of Belgravia in the 1820s, The Thomas Cubitt is the flagship of the Cubitt House group and has occupied the same handsome Georgian townhouse on Elizabeth Street since it opened. The ground floor is a proper pub at its heart: painted panelled walls, antler mounts, a Victorian back-bar, and round tables that fill with locals as reliably on a Tuesday as a Friday. The first-floor restaurant is altogether quieter, bright with tall sash windows, white-clothed tables set with small shaded lamps, and a carved stone fireplace framed by William Morris wallpaper and a gilded mirror that anchors the room.

For private events, the house offers a layered set of Georgian rooms across the first and second floors. The Main Dining Room seats up to 30 across round tables or reconfigures for a long feasting layout, with grand windows overlooking Elizabeth Street and a grandly detailed fireplace wall. The Atrium, tucked within the first-floor restaurant, has a natural skylight, open fireplace, and bar service from the main room: a lively semi-private setting for up to 18. The Small Dining Room is the most intimate: a sloped-ceiling space lined in rich William Morris wallpaper, with studded leather chairs and a stone fireplace, seating a party of ten in real privacy.

The second-floor Drawing Room is the venue's most complete private space. An L-shaped room with deep olive-green panelling, a patterned tiled wall, a fireplace, and a side alcove with its own crystal chandelier for welcome drinks — it seats 20 around a long table, with views over Elizabeth Street. The entire first floor (Main Dining Room, Small Dining Room, and Atrium combined) takes up to 62 seated and 80 standing.
