The Stafford London

The Stafford London sits in St James's, on the quiet cul-de-sac of St James's Place a few minutes from Green Park and the Mall. Its signature space is the American Bar, one of the longest-surviving American cocktail bars in London, where mahogany panelling, a marble bar and walls crammed with donated club ties, sports memorabilia and signed celebrity photographs give the room its lived-in character. The bar opens onto the cobbled courtyard of Blue Ball Yard for alfresco receptions.

Beneath the hotel run the Wine Cellars, working cellars with more than 400 years of history holding a collection of several thousand bottles, used for private dinners, tastings and receptions. The hotel adds a set of period private dining and meeting rooms (the Sutherland, Argyll, Panel and Pink rooms) for smaller seated gatherings, launches and intimate celebrations.

The spaces suit refined, DJ-led private events: the Wine Cellars and American Bar courtyard carry the most atmosphere for receptions, while the private dining rooms work for seated dinners. All are available for private hire through the hotel's events team.
