/ About

The Goring has stood on Beeston Place since 1910, making it London's only hotel to have remained in continuous family ownership across more than a century. Four generations of the Goring family have kept the proportions intimate — 69 rooms, no corporate atrium, no branded corridor carpets — and the result is a house that feels lived-in rather than operated: hand-painted silk walls by Fromental, marble-tiled lobby corridors hung with mural panoramas, a cocktail bar with an arched copper ceiling and spirit cabinets that glow amber in the evening.

For private events, the hotel offers five distinct spaces scaling from eight to a hundred guests. The Garden Room is the largest, an 86-square-metre conservatory-style room whose sliding glass wall opens directly onto the private garden. The Veranda, planted with hanging greenery and flooded with daylight, seats up to thirty across its floor-to-ceiling windows. The Drawing Room and Silver Room are silk-lined private dining rooms for more intimate gatherings of eight to twelve, each decorated with hand-painted Chinoiserie commissioned for the hotel. The Boardroom on the fourth floor seats eight in leather-and-dark-damask surroundings with a concealed screen for presentations.

The whole hotel is available for exclusive hire, and the events team handles everything in-house, from Michelin-starred menus to bespoke florals. Its postcode — a short walk from Buckingham Palace — and its century-long reputation for discretion make it a natural choice for celebrations that require both gravitas and warmth.
