The Photographers' Gallery

The Photographers' Gallery was the first public gallery in Britain devoted to photography, and since 2012 it has occupied a converted warehouse on Ramillies Street, a lane behind Oxford Street that most people walk past. The building runs to five floors, with exhibition galleries stacked above a bookshop and a café.
Three spaces take private events. The galleries hold 100 standing on each floor, among whatever is hanging. The Eranda Studio on the third floor takes 100 standing or 24 seated and is the room used for screenings, presentations and dinners. The café holds 80 in the evening.
One restriction is worth knowing before you plan around it: the gallery does not hire its spaces for parties, weddings, filming, fundraising or publicly promoted events. Receptions, dinners, launches and screenings are what it takes.
