/ About

The Lygon Arms stands on the High Street of Broadway, a former coaching inn whose records reach back to 1377, when it traded as The White Hart. The name John Trevis and the date 1620 are carved over the front door, and the inn played its part in the Civil War: Charles I met his supporters here, and Oliver Cromwell took a room on the night before the Battle of Worcester in 1651. Iconic Luxury Hotels owns it today, and it keeps 86 bedrooms and suites, a spa with a 14-metre pool, and a three-acre garden behind the stone front.

The principal room is Grill, set in the Great Hall under a barrel-vaulted ceiling with antler chandeliers, oak panelling and a Minstrels' Gallery, with menus by James Martin. It seats 80 at round tables, and its furniture can be cleared for a banquet. Around it sit the Edinburgh Room, bright and opening onto a balcony, the panelled Cromwell Room, the bay-windowed Drawing Room, a Champagne Bar and the Russell Room, which the house opens to events only when the hotel is taken whole.

Exclusive use gives a party every bedroom, Grill, the bars and lounges, all the function rooms, the courtyards and gardens, and a dedicated event manager. The house quotes private dining for up to 50, or 100 on an exclusive use. The spa, the fitness suite and the Tavern stay outside the buyout, and the Tavern is let separately for smaller parties.
