The Ivy City Garden

The Ivy Collection's first Square Mile address, The Ivy City Garden sits at the foot of Dashwood House on Old Broad Street, a two-minute walk from Liverpool Street and overlooking the greenery of Bishopsgate Gardens and St Botolph-without-Bishopsgate. Behind a wall of trailing foliage the room opens into a conservatory of scalloped awnings, terracotta floors, banked palms and a retractable glass roof, with terracotta banquettes scattered in jewel-toned cushions and a marble bar tucked among the planting. It reads as a garden that happens to be indoors, an escape from the City that begins the moment you step off the pavement.

Opened in June 2017, the restaurant runs all day on the group's familiar Modern British repertoire and draws the Broadgate and Bishopsgate crowd for breakfast meetings, long lunches and after-work drinks. Two spaces work for private events. The Garden Room, above the main floor, is a light-filled private dining room dressed in blue woven-fabric panelling, antique mirrors and star-shaped brass ceiling lights, seating up to 32 or receiving 50 for standing drinks and canapes. The Oasis Bar, a semi-private onyx-topped bar overlooking the dining room, holds its own for smaller receptions.

The whole restaurant can be taken exclusively, giving a well-known City name and its garden setting over to a single party. It is a natural fit for a celebration or corporate evening with a DJ once dinner service gives way to drinks, and enquiries are handled by the Ivy Collection events team.
