The Caledonian Club

The Caledonian Club was founded in 1891 and moved to 9 Halkin Street in 1946. The house was the last great private mansion built in central London, an Edwardian building of fine craftsmanship a short walk from Hyde Park Corner and Buckingham Palace. It remains a Scottish members' club, and its nine function rooms are open to non-members for private hire, each with its own character and original period detail.
The rooms run from the intimate to the grand. The Library, panelled and lined with books, is the room members love most and works for private dinners, receptions and filmed interviews. The first-floor Stuart and Selkirk Rooms are bright and ornate, sized for dinners of around forty to sixty. The Card, Glengoyne and Oval Rooms suit smaller boardroom meetings and intimate dining, with the Oval opening onto a summer terrace. The Johnnie Walker Room is the largest, seating up to 120 at round tables or holding 250 for a reception, and divides into two.
Event guests arrive through a private entrance at 9A Halkin Street, away from the main club. Catering comes from the club kitchen with menus built to the occasion, and 39 bedrooms across the upper floors house wedding parties and larger events overnight. An experienced events team runs each booking from enquiry to the night itself.

The Johnnie Walker Room
Exclusive HireThe club's largest room, set up for events of around 200 guests and able to divide into two separate spaces. It seats up to 120 at round tables and holds up to 250 for a reception, and has its own private entrance at 9A Halkin Street.
Morrison Room
Exclusive HireOn the ground floor just off the entrance hall, with exclusive access through the 9A entrance. Suited to private dinners, receptions and meetings, it seats up to 64 at round tables and holds up to 100 for a reception.
Stuart Room
PrivateA first-floor room with plenty of natural light and ornate period styling. It works for meetings, intimate private dinners and receptions, seating up to 44 at round tables and holding up to 60.
The Library
PrivateA panelled room lined with books, popular for its atmosphere. It suits private dinners, receptions and meetings, and works particularly well for filming and one-to-one interviews. Seats up to 32 at round tables and holds up to 60 for a reception.
Selkirk Room
PrivateA beautifully ornate first-floor room with a high ceiling and abundant natural light, set for intimate private dining and smaller meetings. Seats up to 32 at round tables and holds up to 50 for a reception.
The Terrace
Semi PrivateAn outdoor space used for al-fresco entertaining through the summer months, hired alongside the adjoining Oval Room for receptions and drinks.
The Oval Room
PrivateAn intimate room filled with period features and ornate detail, suited to smaller private dinners and meetings. It can be hired with direct access to the club's outdoor Terrace. Seats around 16 to 20 and holds up to 30 for a reception.
The Card Room
Semi PrivateA smaller, flexible room often used alongside the adjoining Library, Glengoyne and Morrison Rooms. On its own it takes meetings or dinners of up to 10, and up to 20 for a reception.
Glengoyne Room
PrivatePrincipally a meeting room, comfortably seating up to 8 around a large rectangular table. It also hosts lunches and dinners in a similar configuration.
