/ About

Maybourne opened Surrenne in April 2024, four floors beneath The Emory in Belgravia, and it is the group's answer to what a hotel spa has become. Rémi Tessier designed the 18,000 square feet, the same hand behind the hotel's rooftop bar and courtyard, and the material is travertine and pale timber throughout rather than the white tile of a clinic. A 22-metre pool runs under a skylight at the centre of it, with sound carried through the water.

The wet zone goes past sauna and steam to one of the first snow showers in the country, an aloe station for after the heat, and curtained cabanas for two. Above it sit the fitness floors, including the first Tracy Anderson studio in the UK, and a longevity floor given over to hyperbaric chambers, intravenous therapy and physician consultations. The Surrenne Café works as the club's social room, with a menu built alongside the nutritionist Rosemary Ferguson.

The club is private and runs its own calendar of member events in these rooms. Guests of The Emory and The Berkeley have access, and a private occasion here is arranged through the house rather than taken off a hire product. It suits a launch or a hosted evening that wants a room nobody has used for one before.
