/ About
Thomas Straker opened his first restaurant on Golborne Road in November 2022, in the narrow room that had been Zayane. It seats forty along a banquette, with counter stools at the open kitchen behind the marble bar. The cooking is modern British by way of Italy, built on small-scale suppliers, live fire and a low-intervention wine list, and the MICHELIN Guide lists it for modern British cooking. The restaurant keeps its own book rather than selling through a third party.
Private hire sits next door at 89 Golborne Road, in a dining room the restaurant opened in December 2025. One long table runs the length of it, set around an original fireplace, with an open kitchen visible through an archway and a Harland Miller on the panelled wall. The room takes twenty-six seated or fifty standing, a private bar anchors the far end, and each menu is written for the event rather than picked from a list. The wine team draws on the restaurant's own cellar, weighted to Burgundy and Bordeaux.
Beneath it is the Speakeasy, a dark, red-walled bar with banquette seating and its own sound system, where an evening carries on after dinner for drinks and dancing. The house works with its own preferred suppliers on flowers, printing and music, and will apply for an extension to its hours when an event needs one.
