/ About
Soho House opened Soho Farmhouse in 2015 on 100 acres of farmland beside Great Tew, near Chipping Norton. The 18th-century farm buildings were restored, and cabins were built along the banks of a lake. The estate is closed to cars, so members cross it by bicycle or milk float. It now holds 114 bedrooms, cabins and huts, a health club with an indoor and outdoor pool, and several places to eat: British cooking in the Main Barn, wood-fired pizza in the Hay Barn, and Japanese izakaya dishes at Pen Yen.
The private event spaces are spread across the farm. Barwell Barn is the largest, with a heated pergola and a lawn, seating 90 or holding 120 standing. The Glasshouse is a steel and glass structure beside the Walled Garden, with its own bar and a firepit. The Electric Barn is the screening room, with red velvet armchairs. The restored Farmhouse, built in 1774, sleeps 14 and seats 20 for dinner, and Pen Yen's dining room looks out over the pool and the lake.
Soho House lists its event spaces for members only, so hire runs through a Soho House member. Guests can stay on after an event in the bedrooms and cabins, or take the Farmhouse or the Farm Cottage for a group.
