Shoreditch House

Shoreditch House has occupied the upper floors of the Tea Building since June 2007, when Soho House took a warehouse that once packed tea and bacon for Lipton and left most of its bones showing. Painted brick, exposed beams and steel-framed warehouse windows still frame every room, and the club's art hangs against them rather than over them. The rooftop pool, with the City rising behind it, is the picture the house is known by.

Most of the House is for members. Two of its private spaces, the Back Deck on the top floor and the Library on the fifth, are hired through a member: the Back Deck opens onto the roof terrace with views east across London and takes 150 standing, while the Library is the quieter room, a log fire, lounge seating and its own bar, at 80. Both have a fully equipped bar of their own.

The Lofts is the exception, and the one space a non-member can book directly. It sits on the fourth floor inside Soho Works, an open loft under the warehouse ceiling with a bar, a large screen and a terrace looking over the rooftops. It holds 100 seated and 250 standing, which makes it the largest room in the building available for public hire and the natural home for a launch, a party or an away day that turns into one. Food comes from the House kitchens, including the Japanese menu served upstairs at Pen Yen.
