/ About

Pewterers' Hall is the livery hall of the Worshipful Company of Pewterers, one of the City's oldest trade guilds, recorded since at least 1348 and granted its first Royal Charter by Edward IV in 1474. The Company's third and current Hall has stood on Oat Lane, between London Wall and Gresham Street, since 1961; its two predecessors were both lost to fire, the first in the Great Fire of London.

Behind an unassuming City frontage, the Hall holds a suite of three rooms: the Livery Hall and the Court Room, both large enough for a formal dinner or a full reception, and the smaller Library for a private meeting or an intimate dinner. Seventeenth-century panelling, Georgian chandeliers and cases of historic pewter run through the building, kept for a Company that still meets there rather than dressed up for hire.

A walled garden runs alongside the Livery Hall, set up with a marquee through the summer months, one of the few such gardens still attached to a City livery hall. A resident catering team and events staff run the building day to day, and it takes bookings for dinners, receptions and corporate events, like the handful of other livery halls now open for private hire.
