Brewers' Hall

Tucked into Aldermanbury Square between the Guildhall and London Wall, Brewers' Hall is the ceremonial home of the Worshipful Company of Brewers, incorporated by royal charter in 1438. The current hall, designed by Sir Hubert Worthington after the Blitz destroyed its predecessor in 1940, opened in 1960 and was refurbished throughout in 2022 — new circulation, step-free access and a gallery reception space added without disturbing the oak panelling and chandeliers that give the rooms their character. The project won a Civic Trust Award in 2025.

Three interconnecting first-floor rooms are let exclusively for each booking, so the address feels private even in the middle of the Square Mile. The Livery Hall is the anchor space: floor-to-ceiling windows, crystal chandeliers and the Company's painted crests set along the cornice, opening through communicating doors into the Court Room, whose Verona marble fireplace carries a Carrara panel by Sir Charles Wheeler PRA. A smaller Committee Room, panelled in the same oak, works as a private dining room or a break-out space alongside the two main rooms.

Company of Cooks provides the in-house catering, and events are coordinated through the Company's own Livery Manager and Beadle's office. Brewers' Hall suits a City lunch as readily as an evening reception or a conference, with the first floor typically taken as one exclusive hire across the Livery Hall, Court Room and Committee Room.
