Mour

Mour occupies the Georgian townhouse space on Seymour Street that once housed Seymour's, next door to The Leonard hotel. Founder Saachi Sehgal grew up around the family-run Leonard with his sister Sienna, and the restaurant carries that hospitality through rather than simply borrowing the address. Marta Gaset Studio's interior sets dark tapestries, gilt-framed portraits and open fireplaces against green boucle chairs and a checkerboard-floored entrance hall, closer to a well-kept London home than a dining room built to impress.

The kitchen works British produce into a Mediterranean register: tataki of seabass with roasted garlic ponzu, brie tortelloni with rainbow chard, a duo of lamb with rosemary jus, a bone-in ribeye for two. A mahogany and marble bar anchors the room and leads the drinks list with martinis, including a Blind Faith Martini where the guest picks the base spirit and the bartender takes it from there.

Behind the dining room sits a hidden courtyard, glazed with a retractable roof so it runs through the year, its ivy-clad lattice walls giving Mour its quietest corner. The restaurant, courtyard and bar can be booked individually or taken together as a full-venue hire, for anything from a wedding brunch to a late-night private dinner.
