/ About
InterContinental London Park Lane stands at Hyde Park Corner, on the site of 145 Piccadilly, the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth II, which was destroyed by bombing in the Second World War. Sir Frederick Gibberd designed the hotel that replaced it, and it opened in September 1975. The event floor looks out over Park Lane, the Wellington Arch and the Royal Parks.
Events run from a purpose-built mezzanine the hotel calls No. 1 Park Lane. The Ballroom is the largest room: 811 square metres built as three interconnecting rooms with integrated partitions, so it works as one space or subdivides into as many as six. It seats 750 for a banquet and holds 1,000 for a drinks reception, or 600 seated once a large dance floor and full staging are in. It has its own entrance from Hamilton Place, so an event can arrive without passing through the hotel lobby. Alongside it sit twelve event suites named after London markets, from the 12-seat Borough boardroom up to Grays, which holds 130 standing. Run together, the Roman-to-Grays enfilade takes 550 for a reception.
Theo Randall Cucina Italiana handles the private dining. Its contemporary private room seats 24, a semi-private area extends to 50, and the whole restaurant can be taken for 145. The Arch Bar pours cocktails and champagne over Green Park, and the Wellington Lounge covers all-day dining and afternoon tea.
