Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor

On the top floor of Harvey Nichols' Knightsbridge flagship sits a self-contained world of dining and private hire, reached by its own lift and looking out across the rooftops of west London. The Fifth Floor has been the store's social heart since the early 1990s, and it now gathers four distinct spaces that can be taken individually or combined for a full-floor takeover: CANVAS, a standalone event space; the Fifth Floor Bar; the all-day Café; and a planted rooftop terrace.

CANVAS is the room built for a party. A dry-hire space with its own bar, cloakroom, integrated sound system and a fixed DJ booth, it holds up to 90 standing and opens straight onto the Bar, so the two hire together for larger receptions of up to 200. The Bar itself was recently rebuilt around tall windows that frame the Knightsbridge skyline, and it keeps a licence until 3am. The Café seats the largest sit-down dinners and connects to the terrace, which brings the evening outdoors when the weather allows.

A dedicated events team runs the floor end to end, from curated food and wine menus to production. For a DJ-led evening it is unusually well-suited: the sound system and booth are already installed in CANVAS, the licence runs late, and the address does the rest.
