Grocers' Hall

Grocers' Hall stands on Princes Street opposite the Bank of England, home to the Worshipful Company of Grocers since 1425 and second in precedence among the City's Great Twelve livery companies. The present hall is the fifth on the site: its predecessor, completed in 1893, survived the Blitz largely intact only to burn down in 1965, and the current building went up in its place in 1970. Exclusive hire takes in the whole of the first and ground floors, so the address reads as private even a few steps from the Bank junction.
The Livery Hall anchors the hall: Venetian glass chandeliers, a run of tall windows, and a grand piano in one corner, with the Company's portraits set along the walls. Doors lead through to the Piper Room, a lighter, contemporary space named for the John Piper tapestry that runs the length of its far wall — good for a reception or a second sitting alongside the main hall. Upstairs, the Pitt Library keeps its glass-fronted bookcases and a long boardroom table for a smaller lunch or a private dinner, and the Committee & Sitting Room, wood-panelled and once the domain of the Company's court, works as a quiet breakout space or a green room off to one side.
A marble-floored entrance hall with a curved staircase sets the arrival, and a private courtyard off Princes Street gives VIP parking, taxi drop-off and, in summer, extra reception space. Catering runs in-house under the Company's own events team.

Livery Hall
Exclusive HireThe hall's principal room, hung with the Company's portraits beneath Venetian glass chandeliers, with tall windows down one side and a grand piano in the corner. Taken as a seated dinner around round or long tables, or theatre-style for a conference, and connects directly through to the Piper Room.
Piper Room
PrivateA lighter, contemporary room on the ground floor, named for the John Piper tapestry running the length of its far wall. Used as a networking or catering space alongside the Livery Hall, or booked on its own for a smaller reception or meeting.
Entrance Hall
PrivateA marble-floored arrival space that opens onto the Piper Room and Pitt Library, with a registration desk and room for exhibition stands or corporate branding at a larger event.
Committee & Sitting Room
PrivateA quiet, wood-panelled boardroom on the third floor, away from the main event spaces. The adjoining Sitting Room, seating up to four, doubles as a green room for VIPs, interviews or filming.
Pitt Library
PrivateNamed for William Pitt the Younger, an honorary member of the Company: glass-fronted bookcases line the walls around a long boardroom table. Works as a pre-conference meeting room, an events office, or a private dining room in its own right.
