/ About
Goodman City is the Square Mile outpost of the Goodman steakhouse group, which arrived on Old Jewry in 2010 two years after the original Mayfair room. A short walk from Bank, it trades in the New York grill-house idiom the group is known for: beef dry-aged on the premises, an old-world wine list and a dining room built for the long City lunch. Regulars treat it as a clubhouse, and the room fills daily with the dealmaking crowd of the surrounding banks and chambers.
The interior is warm and low-lit, with buttoned oxblood leather banquettes, dark timber, brass pendant lamps and framed black-and-white photography along the walls. A well-stocked bar anchors one end and glass-fronted ageing cabinets display the beef near the private table. It reads as a proper City institution rather than a design statement, and the long-serving staff are a large part of why the same faces return.
For private events the restaurant offers an enclosed private dining room seating up to ten for a business lunch or dinner, group bookings of up to thirty across a section of the main floor, and full-restaurant hire for standing receptions of up to one hundred. Menus are built around the grill and the cellar, handled by a dedicated private-dining team.
