Chewton Glen is a five-star country house hotel on the edge of the New Forest, set in 130 acres of woodland, gardens and parkland a short walk from the sea. The house dates to the early eighteenth century, and Captain Frederick Marryat is believed to have stayed here while writing The Children of the New Forest; the largest suite still carries his name. Martin and Brigitte Skan bought it in 1966 and built its name as an English country hotel, and it now sits within Iconic Hotels & Resorts.
For a private party the headline room is The Lake Suite, the largest in the house, with its own entrance, a pre-function lounge and French doors onto a terrace over the gardens. It seats 140 for dinner and takes 200 for a drinks reception. The Walled Garden holds up to 140 outdoors in summer, and The Summer Room, a conservatory with garden views, suits a dinner of around fifty.
Smaller dinners move into the rooms around The Dining Room: the glass-fronted Wine Room with its central table among the wine chillers, The Glass House with a private terrace, and The Tasting Room, with artwork, mirrors and an on-show cellar. The whole estate can be taken on an exclusive-use basis, from 3pm on arrival to 11am the next day, with all 72 rooms and suites, including 14 Treehouses, for guests who stay the night.

The spa and The Kitchen stay shared with members and are excluded from exclusive use.
The Lake Suite
PrivateThe hotel's largest private room, on the ground floor with its own entrance, a pre-function lounge, an organiser's office and French doors onto a terrace over the gardens and parkland. Banquet seating for 140, or 110 with a stage, and 200 for a drinks reception.
The Walled Garden
PrivateA seasonal outdoor setting among the planting of the estate, used for alfresco dining, drinks receptions and celebrations of up to 140 guests. Weather planning applies.
The Summer Room
PrivateA light-filled conservatory with French doors, terrace access and views over the grounds. It seats up to 50 for a wedding breakfast or celebration dinner.
The Tasting Room
PrivateA bright room with artwork, mirrors, light-coloured walls and an on-show wine cellar, used for private dining and celebrations of up to 30 guests.
The Glass House
PrivateA private dining room within The Dining Room, with daylight, a private terrace and views across the grounds, seating up to 24.
The Wine Room
Semi PrivateA glass-fronted cellar with a central table surrounded by wine chillers, semi-private and close to The Dining Room. Suited to wine-led dinners of up to 20.
The Wardroom
PrivateA modern second-floor boardroom with video conferencing and hybrid meeting technology, seating 20 around the table.
The Library
PrivateA light-filled boardroom at the courtyard entrance, seating 14 in boardroom style or 18 at a banquet round. Its large table converts for snooker.
The Club Room
PrivateA first-floor room in warm colours with its own service area, used for meetings and private dining for up to 14.
The Morning Room
